Solar thermal refers to the heating of hot water by use of a solar collector, either a flat panel or evacuated tubes.
Typically these systems are used for producing domestic hot water only, however larger systems can be used for space heating contribution.
The SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) provide grant aid for solar installations in homes built before 2006.
